For 100 years we have been building not just quality buildings but solid relationships.

J. B. Mouton established the company in 1915 when he began using his father’s team of mules to help build houses in the tiny community of Lafayette. After several years he expanded into commercial construction and was joined by his sons, William and Francis . In 1948 a grandson, Manning “Bozo” Billeaud, began working in the field as a superintendent. Over the course of the next fifty-plus years Manning took over the business and became President and owner of J. B. Mouton and Sons Inc.

A Fourth and Fifth Generation Family Run Business

In the early 1970’s one of Manning’s 17 children, Robert “Popie”, began working as a laborer during summers in his high school and college years. He has now worked his way up through the organization and currently serves as President and owner of J. B. Mouton, LLC. Two other great-grandsons, Kim Martin Nehrbass, Vice-President, and Andre’ Billeaud, Project Manager, also work with the firm.  As J.B. Mouton approaches its one hundred year anniversary a fifth generation family member, Stuart Billeaud, son to the current owner, serves as a project manager.
